Smart alerts

From simple threshold checks to multi-parameter composite rules — TERA 360 alerts catch problems before they become incidents.

Alert intelligence

Four layers of detection

Real environments produce nuanced signals. A single threshold is rarely enough. TERA 360 combines multiple detection strategies to minimize false alarms while catching genuine excursions early.

Threshold alerts

Classic high/low boundaries with configurable hysteresis. Set warning and critical levels independently. Supports absolute thresholds, rate-of-change limits, and dead-band filtering to suppress noise.

  • High, low, and rate-of-change triggers
  • Configurable hysteresis and dead-band
  • Delay timers to filter transient spikes
  • Scheduled suppression (maintenance windows)

Trend-based alerts

Detect slow drifts that threshold alerts miss. TERA 360 fits a regression to rolling windows and fires when the projected value will breach a limit within a configurable horizon — hours or days ahead.

  • Linear and exponential trend fitting
  • Configurable look-back and look-ahead windows
  • Early warning before threshold breach
  • Ideal for filter clogging and sensor drift

Predictive alerts

Machine-learning models trained on your historical data recognize patterns that precede failures. The system identifies anomalous behavior even when every individual parameter is still within spec.

  • Anomaly detection on multivariate signals
  • Pattern recognition from historical incidents
  • Self-tuning models that improve with feedback
  • Confidence scoring to rank alert severity

Composite alerts

Combine multiple parameters with Boolean logic. Example: trigger only when particle count exceeds ISO Class 5 AND differential pressure drops below 15 Pa AND the door sensor reports open — eliminating false positives from transient events.

  • AND / OR / NOT Boolean operators
  • Cross-sensor, cross-room, and cross-site rules
  • Time-window correlation (within N seconds)
  • Nested conditions with unlimited depth

Notification channels

Right person, right channel, right time

Every alert rule specifies who to notify, how, and how aggressively — so critical alarms never get lost in a crowded inbox.

  • SMS — Direct-to-phone for critical alarms. Delivery confirmation tracking. Supports international numbers and on-call rotation schedules.
  • Email — Rich HTML notifications with context: current value, threshold, trend chart, and direct link to the relevant dashboard.
  • Webhook — JSON payloads to any HTTP endpoint. Integrate with Slack, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, or your own ticketing system.
  • BMS / CMMS integration — Push alerts directly to your building management system via Modbus or API. Drive HVAC overrides, damper actuations, or work order creation automatically.
Escalation engine

Automated escalation policies

An unacknowledged alert is a liability. TERA 360 escalation policies ensure that every alarm is seen, acknowledged, and resolved — or automatically elevated.

1

Initial notification

Alert fires and notifies the primary on-call operator via their preferred channel (SMS, email, or push). A timer starts.

2

Reminder (T + 5 min)

If unacknowledged, a second notification is sent. The alert appears as "pending" on all dashboards with an audible indicator.

3

Escalation (T + 15 min)

The alert escalates to the secondary contact — typically a supervisor or site manager. Both the original and escalated contacts are notified.

4

Critical escalation (T + 30 min)

If still unacknowledged, the alert reaches the facility director and triggers any configured automatic actions (HVAC shutdown, door lock, etc.).

Acknowledgment workflow

Alert lifecycle management

Every alert follows a structured lifecycle from firing to resolution — creating a complete audit trail for regulatory compliance.

Acknowledge

Operators acknowledge alerts from the dashboard, mobile app, or by replying to the SMS. Acknowledgment records who, when, and from which device — creating an auditable chain of responsibility.

Investigate

One-click jump to the relevant dashboard with context: the exact moment the alert fired, the sensor that triggered it, and correlated parameters. Add notes and attach evidence photos directly to the alert record.

Resolve & report

Close the alert with a resolution category (false alarm, maintenance action, root cause identified). The system logs total response time and generates compliance reports with full timeline.
